Fellows Trained
Since the launch of our Kili Press Fellowship in early 2025, we’ve trained over 120 journalists and community advocates in ethical storytelling, media literacy, and local reporting. 22 are mid-career journalists, 98 are university students.

Here are the 4 areas where we put our energy on
Youth Empowerment
We empower young people through leadership development, entrepreneurship, and life skills training, preparing them for future opportunities while fostering youth-led initiatives that drive social, economic, and environmental change in their communities. Special programs like chess and leadership workshops support vulnerable girls, including those in safe houses, helping them rebuild confidence, develop leadership potential, and explore innovative solutions such as renewable energy for youth-led projects.
Empowerment for All
We promote the participation of women, ethnic minorities, and people with disabilities in sustainable development projects while addressing gender inequalities and empowering women as leaders in economic and community initiatives. Through advocacy and access to clean energy solutions, we ensure that marginalized groups have the resources and policies needed to protect their rights, amplify their voices, and expand their opportunities.
Environmental Conservation
We promote the conservation of natural resources in rural communities by raising awareness and encouraging sustainable agricultural practices, water management, and reforestation efforts. Through community-led environmental projects and clean energy integration, we support biodiversity protection, sustainable land use, and long-term ecological resilience.
Innovation
We foster creative solutions to local challenges by promoting sustainable practices and technologies while supporting community-driven innovations in agriculture, clean energy, and social entrepreneurship. Through training and mentorship, we empower local innovators, particularly marginalized groups, equipping them with the skills and resources needed to drive meaningful change.
